His practice focuses on assisting clients with navigating complex corporate matters including governance and compliance issues, technology transactions, general corporate counseling, and advising in leading-edge areas such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Roy regularly counsels clients in negotiating and documenting intellectual property and information technology licensing and procurement agreements, transitional services and licensing agreements, hosting and cloud services agreements, consulting services and implementation agreements, collaboration agreements, and joint technology development arrangements.
Roy's rich professional background spans various executive roles, including vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary for a publicly traded wireless communications company, as well as vice president, general counsel, and chief privacy officer for an international travel services and technology corporation. Roy also has deep experience in advising corporate and governmental leaders, as well as boards and board committees.
Roy has held positions such as special counsel to the president of the American Bar Association, special assistant attorney general for the State of Georgia, and currently serves as Special Counsel to the Commonwealth of Virginia for Cybersecurity.
Roy also currently serves on the Georgia State Bar AI Committee, the Technology Association of Georgia Board of Directors, the Policy Board for the National Technology Security Coalition, and the Atlanta CIO Advisory Council.
