Nick Duffey regularly assists clients with all matters related to antidumping and countervailing duty investigations and administrative reviews before the Department of Commerce (DOC). He represents clients in scope determination proceedings put forth by the DOC. Nick assists in the facilitation of Enforce and Protect Act (EAPA) investigations before U.S. Customs and Border Protection and helps in deciphering whether a company or other entity is circumventing orders on antidumping and countervailing duties. Nick frequently drafts memoranda, questionnaire responses, case summaries, and other procedural documents and actively monitors the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit for changes in trade remedy determinations. Nick enjoys the process of helping foreign businesses move their products into the United States in a lawful and fair manner.
Prior to joining the firm, Nick served as a law fellow for the United States Trade Representative’s (USTR) Office of General Counsel where he helped represent the United States in dispute settlement proceedings before the World Trade Organization (WTO) and in international trade agreement negotiation and implementation. In this capacity, Nick was also responsible for reviewing International Trade Commission (ITC) determinations and investigating whether foreign subsidies or other measures infringe trade agreement obligations. Additionally, Nick previously worked on antidumping and classification issues in chambers at the U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT).
