Christopher E. Maxwell is a Partner in the firm’s Corporate Group. With over 17 years of practicing law under his belt, Chris has closed over 500 venture capital, growth equity and M&A transactions for clients across the U.S. and internationally.
Chris primarily focuses his practice on representing clients in middle-market corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. He regularly represents private equity and venture capital funds and their portfolio companies, angel investor networks, as well as venture capital-backed founder and family-owned businesses with a particular focus on technology and technology enabled business services firms.
For many clients, Chris also serves as outside general counsel, acting as trusted advisor and providing legal support across the organization and coordinating legal advice from other skilled attorneys within the firm.
He enjoys working with early-stage tech companies, adding value, making introductions to sources of capital and helping through the lifecycle of a company to a successful and meaningful exit.
Chris sits on the boards of the TAG (Technology Association of Georgia) Corporate Development Society and the Florida Venture Forum. He is also assisted in bringing the Atlanta Chapter of Keiretsu Forum to Atlanta which the firm sponsors. He is also active with the Southern Capital Forum and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
