Bruce Smith is a senior partner and head of the firm’s Construction Law Practice. Mr. Smith is also a senior member of the Environmental Practice Group. Mr. Smith’s practice encompasses the complete spectrum of construction and environmental matters and issues. His practice focuses on the following aspects of construction and environmental law: environmental due diligence and assessment; construction and environmental permits and entitlements; reviewing, drafting and negotiating all types design, engineering, procurement and construction contracts and environmental agreements, including government contracts for services and products; federal, state and local procurement matters; all construction and environmental aspects of Brownfield redevelopment and mixed-use development projects and advising on construction and environmental issues, disputes relating to all types of projects and contracts, including retail, residential, commercial, hospitality, resort, mixed-use, industrial, warehouse, Brownfield, infrastructure, utility, water, wastewater, transportation, roadway and airport facilities and projects. Mr. Smith’s practice also embraces the design, development and construction of new, clean and/or renewable energy facilities and projects and other sustainable development projects.
Mr. Smith has served as an adjunct professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology in construction law and is a recognized national speaker on a variety of construction and environmental topics. Mr. Smith is an AV rated lawyer by Martindale Hubbell and is one of the Best Lawyers in America in Construction Law. Mr. Smith has written numerous articles on construction and environmental topics and has appeared on local Atlanta television programs as a recognized commentator on both construction and environmental issues.
