Atlanta (January 11, 2019) – The inaugural edition of “The Atlanta 500 – Our City’s Most Powerful Leaders,” a special publication of Atlanta magazine, honors three trailblazers from Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP. The firm’s managing partner Simon Malko, chairman Gerald Pouncey and partner Clyde Mize and are among the 500 people the magazine spotlights as being the city’s top leaders. MMM is the only organization in the Professionals category with three honorees.
“You can call them the most influential, or the most powerful, or the most impactful,” publisher Sean McGinnis wrote about the 500 in his column, “History in the Making.” Atlanta magazine editor Betsy Riley noted that staff members spent months seeking the opinions of experts across all industry sectors. They also sought nominations from the public.
Malko was elected to lead the firm last July and officially became managing partner this month. He is the third – and youngest – managing partner in the firm’s history.
Pouncey became the firm’s chairman Jan. 1. One of the nation’s leading brownfield attorneys, he also heads the firm’s Environmental, Infrastructure and Land Use practice.
Mize, a partner in the Residential Real Estate practice, chairs the firm’s Diversity Committee. He also leads both the Gate City Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program.
The feature includes brief wrap-ups of their careers plus lighter questions that give insight to their personalities, such as what their first jobs were, who most inspires them and who they believe would play them in a movie of their lives.
“The Atlanta 500” is on newsstands now. In addition to the print edition, the publication plans a podcast series, panel discussions and networking events.
