Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP’s internationally recognized technology attorney John C. Yates is on his way to India. He will post videos and updates from his trip on TechDrawl.com, a new video blog showcasing emerging technology companies from D.C. to Texas. TechDrawl, which describes its content as “fresh from the South,” has posted the first installment, which he submitted as he was leaving for the airport.
Mr. Yates, who chairs the Technology Group at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, is considered a pioneer in technology law and has practiced exclusively in this area for over 27 years. He will be traveling with Jason D’Cruz, head of the law firm’s IndUS Group. They will speak at major business and legal conferences in Delhi and Bangalore on the two- week trip. They also hope to solidify the firm’s Indo-American relationships and contacts in the Indian technology community; locate new sources of capital for U.S. entrepreneurs and potential partners for mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships; and assist the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce in making Atlanta the “U.S. gateway” to Indian technology companies.
“Since this is such an important trip for both the technology community and the city, we wanted to be able to share information as we go, and Techdrawl has been nice enough to help us do that,” said Mr. Yates. He will also post updates on Twitter throughout the adventure under the name @jcyates.
Mr. Yates graduated from Duke University with highest honors where he was an Angier B. Duke Memorial Scholar, and earned his law degree there, as well. Mr. D’Cruz graduated from St. Louis University with honors, and attended law school at Wake Forest.
