Washington D.C. (December 22, 2016) – Captive Review, a leading insurance-sector publication, has named Robert “Skip” Myers, the Managing Director of the Washington, D.C. office of Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, to the magazine’s Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame feature in the publication’s December issue recognizes the most influential individuals the captive insurance industry has produced, or been served by, over the past 50 years. Myers is one of 13 inaugural honorees from around the world.
The publication calls him one of the most recognizable faces in the global captive industry. It notes that he is General Counsel to the National Risk Retention Association and a board member at Captive Insurance Companies Association.
“Myers is arguably the most important and influential captive insurance advocate in Washington and was instrumental in the drafting and passing of the Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986,” the Captive Review feature says. “He has been a regular member on a number of captive association boards and committees and also had input into the design of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act in 2002.”
“This is a wonderful surprise, and I am honored to have been included in this select group of outstanding individuals,” Myers said.
For several years running, Myers has been in the Top 10 of Captive Review’s annual “Power 50,” which honors industry leaders. Other honors include the Vermont Captive Insurance Association’s 2014 Industry Service Award.
