Atlanta (July 8, 2014) – The Corporate Technology Practice at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP has added an experienced corporate finance partner, Amie Singer Piccola. Singer Piccola focuses on transactions for growing companies in the areas of M&A, private equity, venture capital and debt financings.
“Amie Singer Piccola is a great deal attorney, with outstanding experience in equity and debt transactions,” said John Yates, who chairs MMM’s Technology Group. “This is particularly important for our clients in emerging tech markets.”
Singer comes to MMM from Jones Day, where she advised clients, including several leading companies on the West Coast, on major corporate finance deals. In addition to excelling in financing deals for emerging growth and start-up companies, she has extensive experience in a broad range of transactions. These include venture capital and private equity fund formation and investments, public and private debt offerings, cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged capitalization and buy-outs, strategic planning, joint ventures, corporate governance, compliance and general business counseling. Clients work in areas including medical devices, life science and biotechnology, media, communications, hardware, software, service, healthcare, wireless and telecommunications.
Morris, Manning & Martin, which has extensive connections in the venture capital and private equity communities, is nationally known for its thriving technology practice. For more than 35 years the firm has provided counsel to tech companies and entrepreneurs in all stages of growth. Dow Jones figures show the firm has handled more venture capital deals in the last 20 years than any other law firm in the Southeast, and is in the Top 10 for sales of VC-backed companies in the Eastern U.S. between 1996 and 2013.
“MMM offered me a great opportunity to pursue my key interest representing fast growing companies in the emerging market and start-up community,” Singer Piccola said. “It’s a great team with a proven track record.”
She earned her J.D. degree from Emory University and graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.A. in Political Science.
