The 2009 Investor Conference of the Southeastern Medical Device Association (SEMDA) features two participants from Morris, Manning & Martin, who will take key roles at the event. Ann McDonald, Director of Business Development for the firm’s Technology Group, will co-chair the conference and attorney Scott Allen will moderate a panel on mergers and acquisitions of medical device companies.
SEMDA is non-profit trade organization that supports medical device innovation in the Southeast. Its annual conference has become known as the premier regional gathering for the medical device industry. The event will be held Tuesday, Feb. 10 at the Georgia Aquarium.
Twelve presenting companies will have the opportunity to introduce their business plans and technology to venture capitalists, angel investors, corporations and investors gathering from across the U.S. In addition, attendees can choose between several panel discussions on topics including early stage financing, later stage financing, marketing, intellectual property and mergers and acquisitions. One of the highlights of the conference will be the presentation of the SEMDA SpotLight Awards, created to recognize outstanding achievement in fostering the growth of the medical device community in the Southeast.
