MMM Partner Doug Hance was recently quoted in a Law360 article analyzing the current trends and key cases in product liability litigation. The article provides an update on several significant areas of product liability litigation that attorneys are closely monitoring, including social media litigation, PFAS litigation, Zantac lawsuits, and Ozempic litigation.
Hance weighed in on the Zantac suits as they head to trial. Lawsuits against the makers of Zantac (ranitidine) are being filed across the country. A Delaware state court decision has allowed many of these suits to move forward, ruling that the opinions of experts should be evaluated by juries. Hance said that this could lead to more mass tort litigation in Delaware because of “this application of perhaps a more generous view on plaintiff’s experts than we’re seeing in federal court.”
