Atlanta (May 2023) – GlobeSt.com/Real Estate Forum has named Lee Anne Sapp one of its 2023 Women of Excellence. The media outlets, which annually recognize female professionals for their remarkable achievements, honored her in the Corporate Real Estate Legal Counsel category.
Sapp, a partner in MMM’s Real Estate Development & Finance Group, represents real estate developers and investors throughout the entire life cycle of their assets from acquisition, financing and development to disposition. She regularly guides clients through developing complex projects with budgets in the $60 to $90 million range. In the last 18 months she closed 65 deals worth roughly $500 million dollars for one client alone.
“Lee Anne has tremendous people skills and broad expertise that inspire confidence in clients and which she has used to build a national practice that has consistently grown in the range of 50% year over year for the last few years,” says Matt Sours, who chairs MMM’s Real Estate Practice.
In addition to her work for clients, Sapp mentors young attorneys and is also developing a training curriculum for real estate associates. She is a member of WLI – the women's initiative of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) – and has volunteered on MMM’s internal Wellness Committee.
MMM has named her a Pro Bono All Star for dedicating more than 50 hours of free legal services to people, families and nonprofit organizations who could not otherwise afford them. She recently completed training for Kids in Need of Defense – a pro bono effort to provide defenses to unaccompanied minors who need representation after crossing the border.
Previous honors include being named a Super Lawyer Rising Star and being ranked in Best Lawyers for Real Estate Law.
GlobeSt.com and Real Estate Forum will honor the winners July 25, 2023 in a ceremony at Everline Resort and Spa in Lake Tahoe, California. Real Estate Forum will profile the winners in its July/August print issue.
“These individuals have personally impacted the market and have significantly driven the industry to new heights via their outstanding successes,” the editors wrote of the honorees.
