Atlanta (September 2, 2014) – Tech law pioneer John Yates will deliver the keynote address at LawTech Atlanta 2014. The Daily Report, an ALM publication, will present the event Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Twelve Hotel in Atlantic Station. The goal of the event, which is part of ALM’s LegalTech series, is to gather innovative regional thought-leaders to share practical information for improving law practice management.
Yates, who leads the technology group at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, will deliver an address titled “The Paperless Lawyer: Securely Moving Legal Practice into the Digital Age.”
“The advent of technology in legal practice is an enormous issue in 2014,” Yates says. “Lawyers need to develop strategies to change habits and become more efficient.”
With an increased number of available tech tools in 2015, lawyers need to understand how to continue to improve their efficiency while balancing security concerns – namely, the flow of secure and private information between lawyers and clients. Yates’ presentation will address:
- Mobile stability – is there one device that can do it all?
- How “going paperless” is not a swear word
- The benefits and challenges of a digital friendly practice
- Cybersecurity and privacy across devices
- Social media, privacy and attorney-client relations
Yates is internationally recognized in the field of technology law. He has founded and been a member of the boards of directors of several leading technology organizations for over two decades.
