Atlanta (Nov. 30, 2012) ─ The International Trade team of Morris, Manning & Martin (MMM) scored another important victory on November 14 when the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that imports of circular welded carbon-quality steel pipe from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman, Vietnam and India were not causing material injury to the U.S. industry. The ITC ruled that imports from these countries were not causing material injury and voted that no countervailing or dumping duties should be imposed on imports of standard pipe from these countries. The negative determination was by a vote of four to two.
The UAE was the biggest supplier subject to the case and MMM represented the largest exporter from the UAE. The case was filed in September of 2011 by a coalition of U.S. pipe producers.
The International Trade Team consists of partners Julie Mendoza, Donald Cameron, Brady Mills, and Will Planert, associates Mary Hodgins and Jeffrey Frank, and International Trade Specialist Paul McGarr.
Earlier this year, the International Trade team also won a dumping case at the ITC brought by U.S. wire producers against galvanized steel wire from Mexico and China.
