Atlanta (February 4, 2022) – Dan Huynh, a partner in the Intellectual Property practice of Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, has begun a two-year term on the Southeast Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). Founded in 1913, ADL’s mission is to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment to all.
A recipient of the ADL Southeast Region’s 2020 Emerging Leader Award, Huynh says his first goal is to immerse himself within the organization and to learn as much about the nonprofit’s impactful programs. “The ADL is a much bigger organization than many people realize,” he said. “In addition to doing a phenomenal job of fighting antisemitism, it also confronts hate in all forms by offering investigation and research, education and training, and advocacy initiatives.”
Huynh says the organization fits perfectly with his other community work, which includes serving on the boards of the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association, the National Conference of Vietnamese American Attorneys and Asian Americans Advancing Justice. He is also a founding board member of the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Georgia.
“I’m grateful to have this opportunity to provide a unique perspective as an Asian-American,” he added. “Plus, it’s an honor to serve with and learn from many of the distinguished members on the board, who are working hard to make the world a more tolerant and inclusive place.”
The other new board members include Lindsey Fenton, organizational design consultant at Georgia Tech; Frank McPhillips, founding attorney of Maynard Cooper & Gale LLP; Samuel Olens, partner in Dentons’ public policy practice and former Georgia Attorney General; Byung J. “BJay” Pak, partner at Alston & Bird and former US Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia; Robin Sysler, women’s philanthropy president for the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta; and Ronit Walker, administrative law judge. Joel Neuman, began his term as Southeast Regional Board Chair in January.
“The ADL board is the backbone for sustaining the work of fighting hate for good in the South, and the fuel that propels that work forward with urgency in such crucial times,” said Allison Padilla-Goodman, ADL Southern Division Vice President and Southeast Regional Director. “We are so proud to bring such excellent leaders who bring credible voices and passionate hands to the work of our board.”
