Atlanta (April 19, 2016) – Doug Selph, a partner with Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, is currently serving as President of the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia, Inc. The organization is a coalition of legal workers who utilize their professional skills to support the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, and oppose discrimination based on sexual or gender orientation.
Selph is a Partner in the MMM’s Commercial Finance, Real Estate Development and Finance and Real Estate Capital Markets Practices. He has served on the Stonewall Board since 2012.
“During my term as President it is my goal to focus more on service to the LGBT community at large and providing pro bono and other volunteer opportunities for our members to give back and serve those in need,” he says. “We are also focusing more on the ‘T’ of LGBT through CLE and other programs to better educate our members and the public about the unique issues facing the Transgender community in Georgia.”
Selph has a number of significant legal and community accomplishments. These include being a Fellow with both the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia. He has also been active with the State Bar of Georgia; he was a past chair and executive committee member of the Real Property Law Section, and served on the Committee to Promote Inclusion in the Profession. He is also a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Economics Honor Society at Georgia Tech’s School of Economics and has served on its Board of Advisors. He is also an active member of that Atlanta chapter of the Urban Land Institute (ULI.)
