ATLANTA (January 30, 2012) ─ Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP has announced that it will provide Harvard Business School’s Alumni New Venture Contest support in 2012 in the form of a three-part seminar series for Atlanta-chapter contest participants.
In the New Venture Contest, local contests are held by participating HBS Alumni Clubs in regions around the world, including Atlanta. The winner from each local contest moves on to compete in the Alumni New Venture Contest Finals held in Cambridge, Massachusetts on the HBS campus on April 23 and 24, 2012. With more than half of the HBS alumni classifying themselves as entrepreneurs at some point in their lives, this contest is designed to support alumni in launching new businesses and social-impact ventures.
“Our support of the Harvard Business School New Venture Contest is a natural fit for MMM,” said John Yates, Chair of the firm’s Corporate Technology Practice. “In Atlanta, MMM is somewhat synonymous with entrepreneurs and emerging companies. We are looking forward to sharing some of the knowledge and wisdom we have gained from multiple decades of working in the ‘entrepreneurs world.’”
MMM’s seminar series for the contest participants will begin on February 15 and conclude on April 18. The seminar series will cover topics ranging from best practices for company formation to raising venture capital financing to patent protection, among others.
