Atlanta (May 2, 2022) – The Georgia Legal Awards, the state’s premier competition for attorneys, will honor Morris, Manning & Martin’s managing partner and one of its key partners in the Corporate practice.
- The awards recognize Managing Partner Simon Malko in the Distinguished Leaders category. The honor goes to lawyers who achieved impressive results in 2021 and demonstrated clear leadership skills that helped them achieve those results.
- Nick Rueter, head of the firm’s International M&A Practice, is in the 2022 “On the Rise” class. The program recognizes Georgia’s most promising lawyers under age 40.
Since becoming managing partner in 2019, Malko has proven to be a strategic leader whose vision keeps the firm growing while protecting its unique culture. The firm’s gross revenue, net income, realization rate, and number of partners have all risen during his tenure. American Lawyer magazine profiled the proactive and flexible work-from-home policy he instituted during the pandemic. He is currently implementing and updating a new strategic plan that prioritizes strategic growth and amplifies the firm’s core values of outstanding client service and support and development for junior lawyers.
Rueter, who is only 36 years old, represents more than 50 clients and has closed billions of dollars’ worth of deals in more than two dozen countries. He established and chairs MMM’s International M&A Practice. Pitchbook – a leading research firm covering private capital markets – noted that in 2021, MMM was the most active Atlanta-based law firm closing private equity deals worldwide. Even counting European and Silicon Valley firms, MMM was in the Top 15 internationally. Rueter’s community involvement includes serving as pro bono outside general counsel to the Atlanta Beltline Partnership.
The awards ceremony is set for Thursday, June 23, 2022. Click here for information on tickets.
