Morris, Manning & Martin hosts a Summer Associate Program in our Atlanta office. Our Summer Associate Program is designed to give law students a realistic understanding of our Firm and learn first hand what it means to be a lawyer at MMM. Summer associates will attend client meetings, hearings, trials, depositions and negotiations, and will receive valuable hands-on experience through our work assignment process.
Summer associates regularly receive formal and informal feedback from the attorneys with whom they work with throughout the summer. All summer associates also receive a mid-summer and an end-of-summer review. Each summer associate is assigned a mentor who serves as the summer associates advocate throughout the summer as well as a “go-to” person for questions about the firm culture, work assignments, social events, business etiquette, etc.
Summer associates are invited to attend the CLE and training programs that are offered to our attorneys. There are also various programs that are designed specifically for the summer associates, including business development and marketing, business etiquette, writing skills, law firm economics, research skills, etc. These programs along with attorney interaction on projects and work assignments help law students to build a foundation to be successful lawyers.
We also plan a variety of social events to give our summer associates the opportunity to get to know our attorneys outside the work environment. Past events have included parties at attorney houses, deck parties at our office, community service activities, as well as informal gatherings throughout the summer.
