Collections Manager — Atlanta

Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP is seeking a Collections Manager in our Atlanta office.  This position is responsible for collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, coordinating efforts with billing and accounts receivable, and negotiating with past due accounts directly with our clients with input from Partners.  The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who is detail-oriented, well-organized, and maintains positive relationships with our partners and clients.  This full-time position will require a strong customer service orientation with a proven track record of reducing days sales outstanding.

Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with a minimum of 6 years of law firm collections and accounts receivable experience
  • Aderant experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with partners and colleagues
  • Calm, flexible and patient demeanor
  • Comfortable dealing with clients in a collection role
  • Strict observation of confidentiality
  • Strong work ethic with positive, team-player attitude
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Essential Job Functions:

  • Compile information for reporting of the progress of collections and accounts receivable aging
  • Analyze, investigate and clarify account issues
  • Facilitate and expedite the allocations of aged accounts receivable
  • Oversee accounts receivable write-off process
  • Respond to any client or attorney requests
  • Correspond with clients to collect on accounts as appropriate
  • Manage formal quarterly cash collection pushes
  • Assist CFO with compiling, tracking and monitoring Firm fiscal year end process as requested
  • Support all accounting functions with a focus on the accounts receivable and collection processes
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Other tasks as assigned
